I am a software engineer of 40+ years. I have recently retired from UC Berkeley and
I spend my time teaching/consulting software and digital electronics engineering for free pretty much in the bay area.
I am a little bit of an artist - you can't help being a little bit of one when you are born to two of them. In fact, my father, Charles Key Furr, was fairly prolific and even had showings at prominent N.Y. city galleries. Here is a nice collection of his works at www.POBA.org. My mother, Maggie Lucy Marshall, had created posters for the Democratic Party of California back in the 1960’s when we lived in Palo Alto. The posters where silk-screen in that strikingly similar style of the famous poster of Barrak Obama in red and blue. I remember at the time (in the 1960’s ), she told me that she had seen this style in old Soviet propaganda artwork. Now, it makes me wonder if I have noticed a chain of influences.
